Creating a connect with customers through their innovative and out of the box engagement campaigns has seen Ford rise very quickly as a reliable and service oriented automobile brand in the eyes of the Indian masses. The success of the Figo hatch, in particular has paved the way for Ford’s bigger and better future in the country’s automotive space.

To capitalize on the Figo’s growing nationwide popularity, Ford India introduced its one of a kind ‘Discover Smart Drive’ campaign for the very first time last year. Four lucky couples, who were selected for the event based on an online competition, went on to cover a total distance of 2,500kms in 25 days; all of this behind the wheel of a Ford Figo.

With a growing interest in the event’s unique nature, Ford India is back again with the start of the second edition of its flagship event, and this time around the event has reached out to enthusiastic friends, adventurous couples and siblings. Of the 4 Teams participating in this unique drive initiative, three have been selected from an online contest, while the fourth is the mentor team organized by Ford to play guide to the participating teams.

The ‘Ford India Discover Smart Drive was kicked off simultaneously on December 5 from Jammu, Lucknow, Mumbai and Chennai . The route of the Discover Smart Drive Season 2 has been specially designed across every region (north/south/east/west), so participants can explore key cities before reaching the final destination.

Speaking at the flag off of the Mumbai Team, which is now en route to its final destination Kochi, Ford India executive director, Marketing, Sales and Service, Nigel Wark, said,"We've tried to make DSD 2 exciting and challenging at the same time. The passionate winners also get to see that the Figo is a popular car beyond India's borders and cherish the experience of a lifetime by visiting an exciting tourist destination. We want you to join in the fun!"

The winning team will be decided on the basis of a Top score acquired through the team’s performance on various tasks and maximum social media followership in minimum time possible. Ford India will sponsor the winning team along with their favorite fan to an all paid trip to explore Nepal and the majestic Himalayas.
