It made ripples across automobile market when TATA took it over. Now once more Land Rover has something in store for Indian car lovers. The company has decided to launch a Range Rover Evoque in Indian market. The luxury car from James Bond films will now be available in three different and equally classy models Pure, Prestige and Dynamic. The car will be launched in November. The news was released a few hours back at Land Rover’s official website.
Recently Range Rover Evoque was declared Scottish car of the year 2011 in Glasgow. It was because of the looks along with the power it provides. This is because of the machines which power the four wheeler. Customers can choose between a Gasoline engine and a diesel engine. Both the variants look promising and looking technicalities, we think geeks would vote for the 2.2 litre SD4 turbo diesel engine. It produces a maximum power of 190HP and a torque of 420Nm. The 2.0 litre Si4 petrol engine has something higher to offer if you think of power output. The engine is capable of generating a peak power of 240HP and a torque of 340Nm. So it is basically a mix and match of the features that both the power plants can promise. The company has already revealed the specifications that we can expect for upcoming car.
The auto giant is planning to sell cars directly imported from outside India, however soon we can have an assembled version of Range Rover Evoque in 2013. The diesel version is priced INR 50 Lac ($100,000) and the petrol variant will cost around INR 63 Lac ($126,000). Keeping abreast with the changing times, the Range Rover Evoque will house a hoard of smart technologies.
Some of the key Tech-specks are-
Hands free Bluetooth: Compatible with mobile phone. Not to mention the functions that you can operate with this features. This is not the first time that a Bluetooth is employed in an automobile. But the advance system also iPod, MP3 and USB memory stick.
The 380W Meridian Sound System: Developed by partnering with MeridianTM, you can assume hi-tech service from this sound system. It supports 12 channels and 11 loudspeakers. The sound system also contains dual channel sub woofer for geeks.
Optional Rear Seat Entertainment System: This is special service for those who are buying something more than just a car. They resemble an 8 inch screen iPad. It is fitted on two locations; the back of the front head rests and as a display on touch screen for front seat passenger.
The Range Rover is focused on being a luxury brand and hence we do not feel that it will face much competition from other car manufacturers. The main emphasis of the company would be on customer satisfaction.
